What is the difference between Background and Interactive mode?

Both background mode and interactive mode are used to set the software to automatically process anything that is placed into the input folder. The difference between the two is that interactive mode does not allow you to close the GUI whereas background mode will run in the background as a service and allow you to exit or close the software.
